Yoga is an ancient belief that has been believed for healing and improving one’s physical and mental wellness. People do yoga because of the great benefits it provides. But for you to take advantage of the benefits, you must understand all the principles of yoga. The five principles of yoga should be learned by heart for a full yoga experience.

  1. Proper Relaxation. To be able to be relaxed you need to release all the tension in your muscles. You need to put your body at rest and rejuvenate your nervous system. By doing these you will not only give relaxation to your physical body but you also gain inner peace. If your body is relaxed you will carry this all over your body system that will conserve all your energy. You must free your worries and fears.
  2. Proper Exercise. This can be achieved in yoga postures or what is known as Asana yoga. This works systematically in your whole body. It enhances your joints and spines’ flexibility. With a regular exercise it will enhance our blood circulation. Right breathing should be done when doing the different poses of yoga. Doing each poses and other stretching exercises should have coordination with your breathing.
  3. Proper breathing. While doing all those different yoga poses, you should breathe with rhythm and you must utilize all parts of your lungs. By utilizing your lungs fully, it will increase your intake of oxygen. From the yoga breathing exercise or Pranayama, you will learn how to rejuvenate your body and organize your thoughts. It will improve your energy level and gives you a calmer mind.
  4. Proper Diet. A proper diet should give your body and mind the full nourishment. You should eat natural foods and it must be well balanced. In yoga, you must only eat when you’re hungry or in moderation.
  5. Positive thinking and meditation. When you think positive, it will give you a positive outlook in life. You must get rid all those negativity in your body. As a result, you will have inner peace.
